Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix displayed a knack for sports early, and discovered her talent for sprinting during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Ten weeks after the first attempt she made, she was ranked second for 200m at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was a high school graduate when she graduated from school in 2003, signed an agreement with Adidas. Then she was accepted into the University of Southern California and pursued a degree in elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics, in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record the 200m race in 22.18 secs. In 2005, she became the youngest 200-meter world champion at the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed in the top three in all event she competed in at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
